How we use your Google user data

Decided uses Google data only to provide the meal planning features you see in the app.

  • Accessing: with your permission, Decided reads your free/busy times from the calendars you choose, and reads your Google name, email, and profile photo when you sign in.
  • Using: we use free/busy times only to match each night’s meal to the time you have. We use your name and email only for your account.
  • Creating: Decided adds meal and prep events to the calendar you pick, and updates or removes those events when you swap or replan. We only change events Decided created.
  • Storing: we store your Google account ID, name, email, and the IDs of events Decided created, so we can keep your calendar in sync. We do not store your other calendar events.
  • Sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with anyone, except the service providers that run Decided (listed below) as needed to provide the app, or when required by law.

Decided’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not transfer it to advertising platforms or data brokers, we do not use it to determine credit-worthiness, and we do not use it to train AI models. People at Decided do not read your Google data unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it is needed for security, or the law requires it.

You can remove Decided’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How we use other information

We use the rest of your information to:

  • Build, save, and update your weekly plan and grocery list
  • Send your grocery list to Kroger when you ask us to
  • Keep Decided secure and prevent abuse
  • Fix problems and improve features, using usage data that is not tied to your calendar contents
  • Contact you about your account or important changes to Decided

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

In a sale or merger, we will ask your permission before transferring your Google user data.

Storage, security, and deleting your data

Your data is stored with our providers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who run Decided.

We keep your information while your account is open. You can:

  • Disconnect Google Calendar in Decided or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Decided stops reading your free/busy times and stops creating events.

Backups and logs are cleared on their normal cycle, within 90 days.

Children, changes, and contact

Children. Decided is for adults planning household meals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes. If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the effective date. For significant changes, especially to how we use Google data, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
